General information on courses
Course terms

Students can join the school any Monday and can study for any period, from one week to one year or more. There are four terms in one year, with three terms timed to end with the Cambridge examinations. Students wishing to take a Cambridge examination can join one of our Cambridge Exam Preparation courses, which run between September and June every year (please ask at Reception or contact us for exact dates).  We also run courses to prepare for the IELTS, TOEFL and TOEIC tests, as well as Business English courses.

Textbooks

Each level uses a different textbook. The books we use include English File, Cutting Edge, New FCE Masterclass and at low levels, Headway. All students need to buy a textbook when they start. We sell these textbooks in the school, as well as dictionaries and grammar books. All books are sold at the usual shop prices.

Video and CD-ROM

Our teachers use a range of learning tools and materials in lessons, including video and DVD and the internet. Videos can help students understand English in environments outside the school. Most coursebooks include a CD-ROM for extra practice, and teachers often use computers as part of the lessons.

Teachers

All our teachers are experienced professionals, highly valued by students and the school. They are friendly, helpful and genuinely interested in our students and their progress.

In terms of qualifications, all our teachers meet the required British Council standards.

Classes

There is a maximum of 15 students per class. Usually there are around 10 students per class, but in some cases it can be as low as five or six.
